In March 2020, a review paper of the journal Angewandte Chemie International Edition looked beyond the traditional mechanical recycling methods. In the article “Beyond Mechanical Recycling: Giving New Life to Plastic Waste” (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2020, 59, 15402 – 15423) from Netherlands scientists around Prof. Bert M. Weckhuysen, the saperatec technology was mentioned as one piece of recycling technology to solve the global waste challenge.
